Support the Temagami Community Foundation and help us continue building a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community. Your generosity directly supports a range of meaningful initiatives — from our annual arts camp, which inspires creativity and connection among youth, to our scholarship funds, which helps local students pursue their educational dreams. Donations also contribute to our truth & reconciliation fund, which fosters understanding, healing, and partnership between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.

General Fund

This fund supports the ongoing operations and initiatives of the Temagami Community Foundation, helping to sustain the programs, partnerships, and community grants that bring our mission to life. Rooted in our values of community, culture, and environment, this fund ensures the Foundation can continue to foster connections, preserve Temagami’s natural and cultural heritage, and invest in projects that make a lasting difference for generations to come.

Arts Camp Forever Fund

This fund ensures that our free annual Arts Camp on Bear Island continues for generations to come. Celebrating creativity, culture, and community, the fund supports programming and opportunities for youth to explore the arts, build connections, and celebrate the spirit of Temagami through self-expression.

Council of 100

This fund recognizes donors who contribute $5,000 or more—either as a one-time gift or through installments—and who share a deep belief in the Temagami Community Foundation’s mission and values. Members of the Council of 100 are champions of community, culture, and the environment, whose generosity ensures the Foundation’s continued impact for generations to come. Their commitment reflects a shared vision of connection, stewardship, and lasting positive change in the Temagami region.

Truth & Reconciliation Fund

The Temagami Community Foundation is firmly committed to advancing reconciliation, fostering understanding, and supporting Indigenous-led initiatives within our community.The Truth and Reconciliation Fund supports initiatives that foster learning, healing, and connection between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Guided by the Foundation’s commitment to respect, understanding, and shared growth, this fund helps advance projects that honour Indigenous voices, preserve cultural knowledge, and build meaningful relationships grounded in truth and reconciliation.

Tracy Gauvreau Memorial Scholarship Fund

Tracy Gauvreau was the CEO of the Temagami Public Library until her untimely passing in December 2002. She had completed a College Diploma in Early Childhood Education and then after working as an Educational Assistant at Temagami Public School decided that she wanted to attend University and obtain her teaching qualifications. Tragically Tracy was never able to achieve her goal. In her memory, the Temagami Public Library, in conjunction with the Temagami Community Foundation established the Tracy Gauvreau Scholarship Fund which is available to assist other students reach their goals.

Kimmy Renaud Memorial Scholarship Fund

Kim Renaud was well-known in the Temagami community as being bright, kind, and very passionate about aviation until her untimely death in April 2003. This fund was created, in memory of Kimmy, to support students pursuing the field of aviation. However, recently the application requirements have been broadened to include any applicant from the Temagami area who is pursuing post-secondary education.

Robb Hindson Memorial Bursary Fund

The Hindson family’s connection to Lake Temagami began over a century ago with Clarence Hindson, who served as Chief Fire and Park Ranger for the Temagami District in the early 1900s. His dedication to conservation and community inspired generations of his family to cherish the region’s natural beauty. In 2004, his great-grandson Robb Hindson continued this legacy by purchasing a small island on the lake, where he and his father devoted time to replanting trees and preserving its tranquility. The Robb Hindson Memorial Bursary Fund honours Robb’s lifelong love of Temagami and supports opportunities that reflect his spirit of stewardship and appreciation for the natural environment.

Timiiagamiing Anishinaabeg Students Fund

This award is designed to support access and retention for Indigenous students from Timiiagamiing First Nation (Bear Island), helping to remove financial barriers to attending Rosseau Lake College (RLC) for entry into Grades 7–12 and supporting a positive and enriching educational experience.
