Kimmy Renaud Scholarship Fund

Kim Renaud was well-known in the Temagami community as being bright, kind, and very passionate about aviation until her untimely death in April 2003. This fund was created, in memory of Kimmy, to support students pursuing the field of aviation. However, recently the application requirements have been broadened to include any applicant from the Temagami area who is pursuing post-secondary education.
To be eligible to apply for this fund, you must be in or entering a post-secondary education program, where preference will be given to those in the field of aviation. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to volunteer service in the community and be a resident of the Municipality of Temagami or Bear Island.

Tracy Gauvreau Scholarship Fund
Deadline: April 30, 2026
Tracy Gauvreau was the CEO of the Temagami Public Library until her untimely passing in December 2002. She had completed a College Diploma in Early Childhood Education and then after working as an Educational Assistant at Temagami Public School decided that she wanted to attend University and obtain her teaching qualifications. Tracy was never able to achieve her goal. In her memory, the Temagami Public Library, in conjunction with the Gauvreau family and the Temagami Community Foundation, established the Tracy Gauvreau Scholarship Fund which is available to assist other students reach their goals.
To be eligible to apply for this fund, you must be in or entering the field of Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant, or Teaching Degree programme. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to volunteer service in the community and be a resident of the Municipality of Temagami or Bear Island.

Robb Warren Hindson Memorial Bursary

The Robb Hindson Memorial Bursary was created to support young people who are ready to dream about what comes next. Inspired by Robb Hindson’s lifelong connection to Lake Temagami and his passion for learning, this bursary encourages students to explore education, skills, and experiences that open doors to meaningful futures.
Education doesn’t have to look just one way. Whether your goals involve college or university, hands-on training, environmental work, skilled trades, aviation, forestry, or learning through real-world experience, this bursary is here to help you take that next step.
If you care about your community, your future, and the possibilities ahead, this bursary is an invitation to imagine where your journey can take you—and to begin building that path today and in hopes you can help build a stronger Temagami community for the future.

- Up to $8,000 will be awarded this year (may be shared among multiple students)
