Am I eligible to apply for this grant?

Can I apply for more than one grant and can I apply each year?
Yes! We would love students to know that they can apply to any grant that fits their profile. They may apply annually.
General date of the grant applications
Keep an eye out on Instagram or Facebook for our granting seasons. Generally, the Fall grants will be open after Thanksgiving weekend for one month. The Spring grant season will run in March-April. The Hindson Bursary will open in April and close at the end of May. The Renaud and Gauvreau Funds will open in July for one month.
What does a strong application look like?
A clear reason for applying
The student explains why they are interested in the grant and how it connects to their studies or goals.
Evidence of effort and commitment
This can include good attendance, strong grades, involvement in school or the community, or a willingness to learn and improve.
Honest and thoughtful answers
The application should be genuine and personal, not overly complicated or vague.
An explanation of impact
The student explains how receiving the grant would help them, such as reducing financial stress or supporting their education.
Clear and neat presentation
The application is easy to read, follows instructions, and has no major spelling or grammar mistakes.
Complete information
All required sections are filled out and any requested documents are included. Attention to deadlines and interview time slots required. If you cannot make an interview or deadline, you must email us.
A clear purpose
The application explains what the grant money will be used for and why it is needed.
A good fit
It shows how the request matches the goals of Temagami Community Foundation.
Clear benefits
The applicant explains how the funding will make a positive difference, whether for individuals, a program, or the community.
Honest and realistic details
The information provided is accurate, straightforward, and achievable.
Clear and organized writing
The application is easy to understand, follows instructions, and avoids unnecessary jargon.
Complete submission
All required questions are answered and any supporting documents are included and included within the deadline.
When will funding decisions be made and how will I be notified?
Funding decisions are made by a granting committee, made up of members of the Temagami Community Foundation. Once the deadline has been reached, the Granting committee will meet and your application will be reviewed. You will be notified of a successful application within one month of the deadline.
What are some ways I can let TCF know how the grant has assisted me?
Recipients may share how the grant has assisted them by submitting an email, photographs, or a written letter. We welcome updates describing how the funding supported your goals and made a meaningful impact, even in a small way. This feedback helps us understand the value of the grant and supports the continuation of future funding opportunities.
What do I need to submit with my application?
Anything the application requires should be submitted – supporting documentation, etc. Each grant has different requirements so be sure to read each one carefully.
As a student, what can I use the grant funding for? (Tuition, supplies, projects, research, academic travel endeavours)
As a student, you are welcome to use the grant funding for any of the purposes outlined above, provided the funding supports your academic goals and educational pursuits. The grant is intended to assist you in furthering your studies and reducing barriers to your success. If you are unsure whether your intended use of the funds is appropriate or aligns with the purpose of the grant, please do not hesitate to contact us by email for clarification.
