Sarah-Jane Pearce
TCF Co-Chair & Finance Committee Chair
Sarah-Jane has been coming to Temagami and Jumping Caribou Lake with her family all her life. Prior to her career as a Real Estate Broker for Royal LePage in Toronto, Sarah-Jane was a Director of Marketing and Events at Rogers Media.
In 2024, Sarah-Jane was honoured to join her mother, Jane, as a member of the Events Committee. Additionally, Sarah-Jane is now the Co-Chair of the Foundation and serves as the Chair of the Finance committee.
Janet Clermont
TCF Co-Chair & Communications & Events Committee Member
Janet was born and raised in Cochrane, Ontario. She began her career as a journalist and photographer, working for newspapers across southern Ontario and serving as editor of the Cochrane Northland Post from 1990 to 1995. She graduated from Laurentian University in 1998 with a degree in English Rhetoric and Canadian History, then pursued a second career in law and was called to the bar in 2002. Janet practiced civil litigation in London, Ontario, with experience in insurance defence, Aboriginal law, land claims negotiations, and regulatory defence for commercial fishermen. She was counsel on the Ipperwash Inquiry from 2004 to 2006. Janet joined the Temagami Community Foundation in 2025 and lives part-time in Temagami with her husband, Chris, on Jessie Lake.
Jess Lewis
Communications and Events Committee Member
Jess spent the first five years of her life living year-round on Lake Temagami before moving to the United States. She now resides in Columbia, Missouri, with her two children, Abel and Hazel. Each summer, Jess and her family return to Lake Temagami, where she serves as Director of Camp Wabun, founded in 1933 by her great-grandfather and seven other teachers. Over nine decades later, Camp Wabun continues to connect young people with the transformative power of Temagami through wilderness canoe travel.
Since joining the Temagami Community Foundation board, Jess has served on the Events Committee and as Chair of the Communications Committee. 2026 will mark her tenth and final year as a board member, but she looks forward to continuing to support the Foundation, its board, staff, members, and the broaderTemagami community and the excellent work that they do for the land,for the water, for each other.
Jane Pearce
Events Committee Chair
Jane’s family has owned a cottage on Jumping Caribou Lake since 1932. The family have deep ties to Temagami as Jane’s Grandfather was an Engineer who worked on what was “The Ferguson Highway “ (highway 11) in 1927 as well as doing the surveying for the railway to the north in the early 1900’s.
Jane was born in Toronto and is now a seasonal resident. Jane had an extensive career as a Senior Account Executive with Torstar Media Group.
Jane joined the Board in 2021. As Chair of the Events Committee she has played a key roll in the “Temagami comes to the City Gala” as well as the C100 luncheon. Jane is currently organizing the Temagami Community Foundation first annual Golf Classic which will be held on Friday August 14th at the Hailebury Golf Club.
Meghan Hope
Grants Committee Chair & Communication Committee Member
Meghan and her husband both work in education in the Waterloo Region, where they raise 3 children. Meghan’s grandfather, William Detenbeck, purchased a cottage on Jumping Caribou over 70 years ago, and her family has cherished the amazingly vast and beautiful area ever since.
With the strong belief in the value of free time, Meghan chose to join the TCF. In June of 2024, following Shauna Waddell’s retirement, Meghan became Chair of the Grants Committee. Meghan also serves on the Communication Committee.
Krista Blais
Communications Committee Chair and Grants Committee Member
Krista was born and raised in Temagami, where her roots and love for the land continue to guide her. Now based in Sudbury, she remains active in the community through the foundation and fish hatchery.
A former Arts Camp attendee and bursary recipient, Krista has long supported the Foundation’s mission. She joined the Board in 2025 and serves as the Chair of the Communications Committee and on the Grants Committee as a member.
Giving back to Temagami is a meaningful, full-circle experience. She’s passionate about supporting the people and places that shaped her, and to support Temagami.
Carol Reeder
Grants and Nominations Committee Member
Carol and her husband Ken are the proud owners of Boatline Bay Marine, a family business they have operated for over 35 years. Their work continues the legacy of Ken’s parents, Charlie & Georgette, who raised their family on an island while running Reeder’s Marine & Electric from the 1960s through the 1980s. Now in it’s 3rd generation, Ken and Carol work alongside their son Davis and his wife Madison, passing the torch of the family business. Their older son Kendal lives in Ottawa with his growing family of 3.
Carol joined the TCF Board in 2019 and serves as a member on the Grants and Nominating Committee’s.
Julie Ion
Grants Committee Member
Julie is a seasoned Finance professional that lives with her family in the GTA. First introduced to Lake Temagami in 2006 with a marriage proposal from Dean at the Adanac family cottage, she said yes to a wonderful future that included spending time on a lake that was deeply rooted in his family history. As a result of their love for the area, they purchased Deepwater Lodge in 2020 and are grateful to call Lake Temagami their ‘home away from home’.
With a desire to educate herself more about the Temagami area and truly appreciate her surroundings, Julie joined the TCF in 2025. She is currently serving on the Grants Committee.
Will Goodman
Finance, Communications and Nominating Committee Member
Will is the current president of Guidance Associates/The Center for Humanities in Mount Kisco, NY where he resides. His late father, Jack Goodman, first visited Lake Temagami in 1953 and purchased a cottage in the southwest arm in 1966. Will has been coming to Temagami since he was 5 years old.
Will is the past president of the Temagami Lakes Association. Will joined the TCF Board of Directors in 2022 and currently serves as a member on the Finance, Communications and Nominating Committee’s.
Ashly Legacy
Grants and Communications Committee Member
Ashly is the Post Master at Canada Post and, alongside her husband Omar, is raising their two young children in Temagami. She’s a familiar and friendly face in town, known for her dedication to the community and her willingness to step up whenever help is needed. Whether she’s assisting with local Parks and Recreation events, serving on the Library Board, or volunteering with the Temagami Legion.
She and Omar are a team when it comes to volunteering, and their efforts in Temagami are seen and appreciated.
Ashly joined the Temagami Community Foundation Board in 2024 and currently serves on both the Communications and Grants Committees.
Gordon Mccart

Gord is a valued member of the Temagami Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. His professional experience, community leadership, and commitment to strengthening the Temagami region play an important role in guiding the Foundation’s mission and long-term vision.
Our small but mighty team handles the foundation’s core administration, finances, and communications to ensure our community stays connected and supported.
Jacqueline Mota
Administrator/Bookkeeper
Jacqueline Mota is a proud Northern Ontario resident who is passionate about community, family, and the place she now calls home. Originally from Windsor, Jacqueline and her family made the life-changing decision to move north six years ago after falling in love with Temagami. The connection quickly became part of their story; Jacqueline and her husband were engaged at the Temagami Fire Tower and married on crown land down Red Squirrel Road. They later named their daughter, Temma, after Temagami in honour of the place that means so much to their family.
Now settling into her role with the foundation, Jacqueline is excited to contribute and support the local community in meaningful ways. She is also the co-owner of Up North Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd., where she and her husband proudly serve Northern Ontario.
