The Temagami Community Foundation thrives because of the people who believe in the spirit of Temagami. Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do—from community events and youth programs to fundraising efforts that help sustain our mission year after year. If you’re passionate about giving back and supporting meaningful community initiatives, we’d love to welcome you to our volunteer team.

Our annual week-long arts camp on Bear Island is one of our most cherished programs—and one that simply wouldn’t happen without dedicated volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include:

• • Coordinating day-of camper transportation by bus or boat from town to Bear Island
    
  • Assisting with daily arts programs and activities
    Supporting instructors and campers throughout the week
    
  • Providing general help wherever needed

Our annual fish fry on Lake Temagami brings the entire community together for great food, meaningful conversations, and a celebration of everything we love about Temagami. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Transporting supplies by boat or vehicle
    
  • Helping community members get to and from the event site
    
  • General planning and day-of event support

Every two years, the TCF hosts Temagami comes to the city, a major fundraising event in Toronto that brings together supporters from near and far. Volunteer opportunities include:

• • Connecting with potential sponsors
  • Collecting silent and live auction donations
  • Event planning and preparation
  • Helping with day-of setup, guest assistance, and logistics

Our previous truck ’n boat lottery fundraisers have been one of the TCF’s key fundraising initiatives that we are hoping to revive next year. Volunteers play an essential role in keeping it running smoothly. Volunteer opportunities include:

• • Transporting signage, promotional items, and ticket packages to participating retailers
  • Collecting sold tickets for early bird and final draw dates
  • Connecting with local sponsors
  • Selling tickets in the community
  • There are many moving parts to our lottery—and many opportunities to help make it successful.
