About us

Founded by Richard and Victoria Grant in 2001, the Temagami Community Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of the people, culture, and environment of the Temagami area. The Foundation was created to bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members together, embodying a shared commitment to collaboration, understanding, and reconciliation. Each year, the Foundation provides grants to a wide range of local programs and projects that enrich community life — from arts and educational initiatives to environmental stewardship, youth development, and reconciliation efforts.

The Temagami Community Foundation serves the community of Temagami: the permanent residents, the seasonal lake community, and the Temagami First Nation.

The Temagami Community Foundation is a public foundation (charitable registration # 888898723 RR0001), and is a member of Community Foundations of Canada. A community foundation is a charitable organization that brings people and resources together to strengthen the community, both today and for the future.
