Shared responsibility and our common ground:
Responsibility for the land and its peoples is a shared responsibility; we support projects that emphasize this responsibility and that lead to better understanding of our common ground. Projects encourage respect for all members of the community while celebrating the diversity within the community.
We encourage creative thinking, critical thought, and risk-taking in the projects we support. Our focus is on the Temagami region, but we encourage people to seek input and gain perspectives outside of the community.
Perpetual stewardship, relevance and community accountability:
Contributed funds form a permanent endowment which is prudently managed. The income from the endowment supports projects that are based on community needs, now and for generations to come.
Volunteer based participation:
The board endeavors at all times to represent the community. The Foundation actively encourages broad-based participation in its activities. It depends on voluntary contributions, both financial and non-financial. Members of the community contribute time and expertise to further the objectives of the Foundation.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please send us an email or give us a call. Be sure to tell us your area of interest, the skills or ideas you might be able to share with the Foundation and the best way to get in touch with you! To find out how to reach us please see below.
